An enjoyable and memorable field trip for English majors

On 12th December 12, 2022 , a school trip for English majors of 10th graders was held by English group to some of the renowned places in Hung Yen city: Hung Yen Museum, Chuông (or Bell) Pagoda and Temple of Literature of Xích Đằng. The trip is categorized as an annual activity for students spcialized in English to have better understanding of their provincial tradition and history as well as practise their second language’s skills.

Well before planned time the students gathered despite the wintry weather as they were all excited about the event. The students from the two classes were  divided into groups to do preparations on the sections of the museum and the two historical places beforehand.

With the helpful assistance from the staff here, our students confidently and eagerly delivered their presentations on stages of development of the province during the war against American imperialism, the historic milestones of Hung Yen town in the past along with their sacrifice and attempt to win the independence.

Relatively profound knowledge was demonstrated by presenters about items displayed as well as the symbolic monument in the museum.

Moving to the Bell Pagoda and the Temple of Literature, the teenagers had chances to listen to their peers showing their deep understanding of Buddhism – one of the most popular religions in Vietnam and the impressive history of the two relics.

Ending the trip, the students all felt deeply impressed by the history of the locality’s heroes, greatly inspired to go on their academic activities while the teachers look forward to similar meaningful school trips for the two other senior graders of English majors.
